Anyone for A Carte Noire?

For Christmas my darling children bought me a Nespresso* machine, at my request 🙂 I was so excited! But the excitement soon diminished when i realised there was only 2 options on how to buy the coffee pods for the machine. Online, or at a Boutique in London *sighs*

Ok, i’ll admit, I’ve been up to the Oxford Street Boutique (twice) but only because i was in London anyway, and I’ve also ordered online (which The Hubster said he thought was pretty easy….yeah, it was for him, he didn’t have to scroll through dozens of products making the selection! lol).

So imagine my little smiling face when i find out that Carte Noire have started producing pods that you can buy in the supermarket! Before finding that out i was beginning to wonder if i should have gone for the Tassimo lol.

The new range of capsules come in four flavours and each espresso comes with its own special character.  Some have subtle fruity notes, whereas others offer a more complex chocolaty or nutty aftertaste. What’s more, there are a range of intensities so the higher the number, the higher the intensity, providing real choice whatever the mood or occasion:

·       N°3 Élégant is an exceptional pure Arabica coffee with a smooth and subtle taste enhanced by cereal notes.

·       N°5 Délicat is a pure Arabica coffee with fruity notes and a silky texture

·       N°7 Aromatique is an aromatic pure Arabica coffee with delicate hints of cocoa

·       N°9 Intense is a rich, intense blend of pure, darkly roasted Arabica coffee

I received a sample pack so that i could try them a couple of weeks ago…

… and I’ve been “sampling” them ever since 🙂 They’re as easy to use as the Nespresso ones, and *whispers* slightly cheaper. My favourite is No 5 because i don’t like my coffee to be too intense and i love the fruity overtones. But, remember the Coffee & Walnut Cake i made last week? Yep, you guessed it…the coffee used in that recipe was No 7 lol

Im hoping to make a Tiramisu at some stage in the next couple of weeks, and i think No 9 will be perfect!

So i guess you could say that I’m thrilled…because i can actually buy my coffee at the supermarket. Thanks Carte Noire they’re bloody lovely! 🙂

Now…where did i put that chocolate? I think it’ll go rather well with No 7…..
